Meet Freddy – our friend in the Seasons for Growth program that started at Wesburn today. Seasons for Growth is a grief and loss program designed for children to help teach that grief is a normal, even valuable part of life. It will run over the next eight weeks in our junior school, and helps provide the small group of children attending with the ability to explore how grief as a result of death, separation or divorce has affected their life.
Seasons for Growth is a great resource for children who have been affected by these events in life. It’s been used in a large number of schools across Australia, and draws on extensive research in developing a sound response to grief and loss.
The program for the older age group of our students (grades 3-5) will commence later in term 3. Please speak to our school chaplain, Pastor Luke Whiteside, for more information about this program.
