The transition process for children into school doesn’t need to be abrupt, or difficult. Once again, Wesburn Primary is proud to offer the Stepping Stones program to help children transition from home or kinder into school. Running on Mondays through Term 3, these weekly one hour sessions are a great assistance to all children starting school in 2009.
Dates: Mondays July 21st – September 15th, 2:15 – 3:15pm
Run by our experienced Prep teach Lee Hochkins, they provide a great introduction to school life, and are attended by both the children and parents or carers. They help children become familiar with school routines, buildings and practices. and allow both children and parents to meet and get to know peers in the community.
You are welcome to attend Stepping Stones whether you are considering enrolling your child at Wesburn or not, as these transition classes are a great benefit to children no matter where they later attend.
Activities are held in the Prep room, and include Physical activities, games, stories, fun in the playground, meeting the principal, a tour of our great garden and scarecrows. The program is offered in addition to the orientation days offered by all schools.
If you have any queries, please call the school for more information.
Stepping Stones runs every Monday afternoon, 2:15-3:15pm from July 21st through to September 15th. We hope to see you there!
