Last week of term 1, 2009! Amazingly, despite the disruptions students have had, they have continued to work and play hard at school. When you get a chance, take time to look around the playground and enjoy the happy, smiling faces of students that love being at school and have a sense of security in knowing that everyone connected with the school cares about them and their wellbeing.
During play and lunch times staff have been concentrating on finding students who exhibit friendly behaviours. Each day names of such students have been going into a draw for an icy pole. Some of our winners include Jay, Jessica, Josh and Angela. Teachers are now going to be discussing and looking out for the friendliest grade. Each week that grade will be identified and they will have the opportunity to build cubbies in the Ventch because we see that they have learnt how to get along, share and be considerate towards each other. Watch for this at the start of term 2.
It’s come to my attention that people are putting in late lunch orders and expecting that these will be accepted. Unfortunately we cannot allow this to happen because it makes the job of the mums doing the lunches almost impossible. Once the orders are in and counted on Monday mornings they then set off to purchase all the ingredients. Late orders mean that what they have purchased is not enough. Please make sure that lunch orders are in on time.
Finally, have a peaceful and relaxing holiday and come back feeling refreshed.
Until next term …
